My husband and I stayed at the Fawn Valley Inn for our first wedding anniversary. We absolutely loved the room and especially enjoyed the mountain-style furniture and wood-burning fireplace. It was very relaxing and a great weekend getaway for any couple who needs some quality time together to relax.

This was the second time we stayed at Lazy R Cottages, partly because our daughter loves the Bighorn Cabin so much. We do too. Besides, it is very close to the National Park. It is a roomy cabin with two bedrooms (one with a full + twin bunk bed), a bathroom (with a bath and plenty of room for taking care of a baby for example). The kitchen has a microwave, big fridge/freezer and great stove with oven. There is a nice dining area and a living room with a fireplace and a TV with DVD player. The office has a great collection of DVDs to borrow. The furniture, most of it made of logs, together with all the bighorn pictures and trinkets, gives this cabin a very cozy feel.

The Fawn Valley Inn has become a favorite place of ours. We take extended family when they are in town. It is clean, well-appointed and situated directly on Fall River; you can hear the river as you drift off to sleep. There is a real fire and a really ‘homey’ atmosphere. We awoke this month (as we have before) to find bull elks grazing in the garden just outside our window ... it seems they like the property as much as we do! It’s just down the road from the Rocky Mountain National Park, set in wonderful scenery. We’ve seen bighorn sheep, elk and mule deer right from the condos.

We wanted a cozy spot in Estes for my birthday but also wanted to bring our Welsh corgi. It is hard to find great places in Estes that allow dogs and that are reasonably priced. We felt like we hit the jackpot at Timber Creek Chalets. Our cabin had a fireplace with firewood, rustic log furniture, a great view, and really friendly staff with the woods right behind the cabin. Plus, a kitchenette … forgot to mention the Elk right out our front door. We’ll definitely be back through the winter!
