Estes Park rafting is one of the guest favorite activities in the area. The Colorado and Poudre rivers have rafting terrain suitable for all ages and abilities! Many companies are available in the area; a few major examples are highlighted below.
The first, A1 Whitewater Rafting, has been guiding trips on the Poudre river for 30 years. Their regular Wildwater Trip covers some exciting rapids without becoming too overwhelming while their Wild & Scenic trip is more challenging but has especially beautiful views as well. A full-day, 22 mile excursion with a deli-style lunch is also offered.
An action-packed time can be had on Mountain Whitewater Descents’ half-day Plunge trip, featuring five rapids. Full day and two-day trips are also available. Each is accommodated by a safety kayak or cataraft. Each boat has extra handles to keep you safe and free fleeces to keep you warm.
The Colorado river is slightly farther away than the Poudre, but you can make up for the driving time with a full day’s worth of rafting. The 12 mile stretch of river is perfect for relaxing and floating most of the time, with a few small rapids thrown in. The trip passes by natural hot springs and miner cabins over 100 years old on the way. A picnic lunch and transportation is included. See Rapid Transit Rafting for more details.
Finally, several options for trips ranging in difficulty and distance can be found with Colorado Whitewater Rafting, which covers Clear Creek, the Upper Colorado and Blue River.
