Though it feels like winter might not want to quit around here in Colorado, we can’t help but get excited about the wonderful lineup of summer activities happening near Rocky Mountain National Park! Plan your Estes Park vacation around these fun summer events – many with free entry!

June

Jazz Fest Weekend, June 3 – 4

The mountains are alive with the sound of music in early June at the annual Estes Park Jazz Fest Weekend! Previously called the Jazz Fest & Art Walk, this event still has plenty of art and fun activities for everyone in the family. Adults can even enjoy a little trip to the wine garden during the weekend. Tickets start at $10 per day or you can get a weekend pass for $15, and children 12 and under are admitted free.

Estes Park Wool Market & Fiber Festival, June 10 – 11

For a unique family-friendly event, come on out to Estes Park for the Wool Market & Fiber Festival. You can visit with animals, attend workshops, watch demonstrations, and shop at the festival. Admission is free but there is a $5 parking fee.

2017 Estes Park Marathon, June 18

Whether you’re a runner or just coming to cheer someone on to the finish line, Estes Park is taken over by running enthusiasts for the Estes Park Marathon in mid-June. It’s become a weekend affair with the marathon on Sunday and a 5K and kids biking and running event on Saturday, June 17.

Estes Park Scandinavian Midsummer Festival, June 24 – 25

This popular summer event celebrates the solstice as well as Scandinavian heritage and culture. Come see demonstrations, encampment re-enactments, dancing showcases, and visit the beer garden at the Estes Park Scandinavian Midsummer Festival.

July

4th of July Celebration, July 4

Celebrate America’s independence with a fun celebration and festival in Estes Park at the 4th of July Weekend Celebration! It’s a weekend of live music, a car show, and of course fireworks over Lake Estes. And, the new parking garage next to the Visitor Center will be opening, so you can park close to town and easily walk to all of the festivities!

Rooftop Rodeo, July 5 – 10

Put on your best Stetson and come watch the wild action at the Rooftop Rodeo! Events start July 5 with the parade at 10:30 a.m.;then it’s time for the professional cowboys to show us how it’s done at the rodeo performances.

August

Estes Park Wine Festival, August 12 – 13

Sample excellent vintages from around Colorado, listen to live music, and grab some quick bites at the food vendors in Bond Park at the Estes Park Wine Festival! Tickets start at $30 for presale or they can be purchased at the gate for $40.

Longs Peak Scottish Irish Highland Festival, September 7 – 10

Say goodbye to summer at the annual Longs Peak Scottish Irish Highland Festival! Enjoy live Celtic music performances and dances, jousting, and fun for everyone in the family!
