Colorado has a rich history and as such has plenty of offerings for a spooktacular Halloween! Here are a few ideas for our friends and guests that are looking for fun Halloween activities in Estes Park:
The Stanley Tour ($20 per adult) at the Stanley Hotel is a popular Estes Park activity and extremely fitting for those on the hunt for haunts. Or, the brave may want to plunge into the depths of the Stanley Hotel on the Night Ghost Tour ($25). Don’t worry, the ghosts seem pretty happy there and shouldn’t follow you back to your condo or cabin!
Ghost Stories at the Stanley Hotel is the more family-friendly option with tales of its ghosts but suitable for children of all ages. Children under five even receive free admission! Cost is $7 or $5 for AAA card holders, Military personnel or seniors aged 55 and older.
Ride at your own risk during the Scary Wagon Rides on Friday, Oct. 17 and 24, and Saturdays, Oct. 18 and 25. Rides start at either 6:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. and last half an hour. Cost is $30/adult and $15/kid.
Elkhorn Avenue normally closes to traffic for the safety of families trick-or-treating on Halloween night. The local businesses and shops participate by handing out candy to your little ghouls and goblins. The street closure generally lasts from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Estes Park Police Officers are present for extra security.
In the mood for another kind of spirit sighting? Head over to The Rock Inn Mountain Tavern for its Second Annual Boograss and costume contest to enjoy a variety of spirits and libations, live music, dancing, and a costume contest. The party starts Halloween night at 9 p.m. and ends at midnight on Saturday, Nov. 1.
