Estes Park Elopement

For those looking for a smaller, more intimate wedding, planning an elopement may be just the thing. Estes Park offers one of the best places to do just that. With its scenic beauty, small-town intimacy, and picture-perfect mountain location, Estes Park is the perfect place to elope. With so many scenic and intimate settings, the possibilities are endless when it comes to planning your Estes Park Elopement.

To help get you started, here are a few things you should know before planning your Estes Park Elopement.

Permit required

If you are planning to elope in Rocky Mountain National Park you will need to obtain a permit. The permit is $200 and can be purchased up to a year in advance of the wedding. You will need to know ahead of time how many people are in your party, including the officiant and photographer. Specify your location of choice and understand not all permits are approved. For more information on acquiring an elopement permitted in Rocky Mountain National Park see here.

Every season is great

If you aren’t sure which season to choose, know that really any season in Estes Park is beautiful. Winter brings a wonderful blanket of snow, springs blooms colorful wildflowers, summer offers ideal temperatures, and fall brings with it a golden aspen glow.

Attend the Estes Park Wedding Association Bridal Show

Every year the Estes Park Wedding Association hosts its annual Bridal Show. This year the show will be held on January 24th, 2019 at The Stanley Hotel. It is a great opportunity to scout out vendors, photographers, officiants, and so much more under one roof. General admission is $10 for the first attendee and $5 for each additional guest.

Timing is everything

Most likely if you are planning an Estes Park Elopement you are preparing to have the ceremony outside. Knowing when the lighting will be at its best will allow for some of the best opportunities for photos. Your photographer will most likely tell you when the best time of the day is for photographs but knowing beforehand is helpful for planning purposes. Depending on the season you choose, knowing when sunset will be is key.
